Grissom is at the top of the breed for many of the economic traits. He has one of the most appealing sets of carcass scanning results collected at Crooked Post, with over 10 years and hundreds of yearling heifers and bulls ultrasound collected at Crooked Post.
A very sound physical specimen, he has a large scrotal circumference, is large footed, moderate framed, masculine featured and yet still has a very smooth extended front end that blends into his wide deep ribcage structure. Wide topped and deep muscled. Another huge plus is his docility. He is solid red and homozygous polled.
The value Grissom carries is only compounded by the solid predictability built into his background. This allows him to generously offer up these genetics more readily through his matings. We have always felt that it is good to have some great animals each year but in order to be more profitable we need to work on the averages of the group and tighten up the consistency between the top and the bottom of the different groups of cattle. Grissom helps accomplish this.
Crooked Post Grissom will be participating in the Durham Research & Development Project in Australia.
